Ivories.music · Guess the Note

Privacy policy

Your practice stays on your device.

Last updated: November 3, 2026

Who provides the app

AfterLogic Corporation provides Ivories.music, a piano note-reading game called Guess the Note. This policy covers the current local-only iOS app and these Privacy and Support pages. No Ivories account is required.

For privacy questions, contact a.nefedov@gmail.com.

Practice data

The app stores note-reading results, response times, mistakes, your color map, level progress and practice preferences in local app storage. It also remembers your selected input and presentation preferences. This information is used to run practice, adapt note selection and show your progress.

The app does not upload this practice history to an Ivories or AfterLogic server. It has no custom analytics or advertising SDK and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Microphone and instrument input

Microphone input is optional. When you choose it, grant permission and start or resume practice, audio is analyzed on your device to identify piano notes. Audio is not recorded to a file or uploaded. Pausing practice, opening Practice settings or leaving the active app stops input capture.

In builds where a MIDI instrument connection is enabled, note events are processed locally. The app does not save an audio or MIDI recording or upload the input stream.

You can revoke microphone permission in iOS Settings. You can use the on-screen keyboard without granting microphone or instrument permissions.

Storage, backups and deletion

Individual answer observations are retained for a rolling 90-day period and removed when the app next reads or writes practice history. Your compact color map and level progress can remain until you reset them.

Practice settings → Reset heat map deletes the local answer history, color map and level progress after confirmation. Input and presentation preferences remain. This reset cannot be undone by us.

iOS may include app storage in device backups according to your Apple settings. Ivories does not provide its own cloud backup, account sync or remote recovery. We cannot remotely inspect or delete your on-device practice database; you control the local reset.

Apple diagnostics and TestFlight

Apple operates the App Store, iOS diagnostics and TestFlight separately from Ivories. Apple may provide developers with app analytics and diagnostic information under its own privacy terms and your applicable settings.

If you install a beta through TestFlight, Apple collects beta usage and crash information and shares reports with AfterLogic. These reports may identify the tester and device. Feedback you choose to submit may include screenshots and comments. We use these reports to investigate problems and improve the app; we do not routinely copy them into a separate analytics service.

See Apple App Analytics & Privacy and TestFlight & Privacy. Apple controls retention of records in its services.
